Interest in integrating traditional health care with mental healthcare has increased dramatically in the past few years.  Fragmentaion of care into sharply divided medical care and mental health care often leads to worse health outcomes since many medical conditions impact mental health and mental health problems impact medical problems.  Due to increasing evidence supporting the need to treat mental health simultaneously with medical health, new models have emerged that bring mental health clinicians into healthcare settings like primary care. This presentation will address the promise that integration holds in improving outcomes, decreasing costs, and enhancing the overall patient and family experience. Using a case study in primary care, the presentation will highlight various ways mental health clinicians can begin to work towards integrating into other healthcare settings.  Finally, the presentation will address strategies to make payment more robust in integrated care settings.

This training will provide participants information they need to support clients processing the loss and grief of their pets.  This course takes about 45 minutes. At the end of the program you will be required to complete an assessment to earn your certificate.
